bcause is a not-for-profit organization that was established in 2000 to support charitable organizations that address the social concerns of salon owners and beauty industry professionals.
What is Make A Change Day? Salon owners who wish to participate can display a jar at their establishments and collect loose change. At the end of the collection the money is directed to a Coinstar machine and is transferred directly to the charity chosen for that year.
Since the launch of Make A Change Day in 2001, the organization has collected thousands of dollars in spare change. The spare change has funded programs for re-planting trees that were destroyed by wildfires, women entrepreneurs and provided hairpieces for children with long-term medical problems.
Donations are being accepted through April 30, 2004 for this years Make A Change Day recipient, the Alzheimers Association.
Alzheimers is a disease that affects over 4.6 million Americans and there is no cure. The Alzheimers Association is the nations leading not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing research for the disease and helping those who are already affected.
